Tai Chi

Tai Chi

health, fitness, balance

Tai Chi is one of the four internal systems of Shaolin-Do kung fu. As a student, you’ll begin your Tai Chi education with basic stepping and turning practice incorporating a relaxed and grounded posture. Mindful practice of Tai Chi will result in many health benefits, including reduced stress levels, increased energy, and improved balance. Your initial focus will be on the Yang Family style of Tai Chi.

Our internal program also focuses on meditative breathing and stretching exercises to emphasize strength, focus, flexibility and balance while helping you improve the circulation of your chi, or energy. One of the core principles of Tai Chi is meditation. You’ll learn some basic breathing techniques that you can use to incorporate meditation into your daily life.

At Fingerlakes Shaolin-Do we teach Tai Chi, and the internal systems of Pa Kua and Hsing I, as part of the kung fu curriculum. For those interested in only the internal arts, we offer specific instruction in the internal arts at a reduced rate. Contact us to inquire about our Tai Chi specific program.
